2 tips to feeling happier and healthier
1 – Exercising daily
Regular exercise is important for both your mind and your body. Physically exercise is well known to be important to maintain a healthy weight and to improve blood flow, among many other positive physical effects. In addition to this, exercise promotes the release of endorphins, which are often referred to as ‘happy hormones’. This can help alleviate depression, low mood and even lethargy. By improving your physical and mental wellbeing, you are left feeling happier and healthier. Daily exercise may sound too time consuming or expensive if it involves going to the gym, however in order for it to impact your health positively it does not have to be as intense or as time consuming as you think. People who live healthily often incorporate their daily exercise into their day by little activities such as walking to work or using the lift over the stairs.
2 – Eating a balanced diet
The food that we eat has a massive impact on our health and often the seemingly ‘easy’ options are the worst for us. Processed foods such as ready meals can often feel like a fast and cheap alternative to preparing a fresh meal however they can often be incredibly bad for your health – even the ones that have healthy eating labels. What’s surprising is that fresh healthy meals can be just as fast, much cheaper and often much tastier, while being much better for your health than processed foods. Maintaining a balanced diet is also easier when preparing your own meals as you have more of a say about what ingredients are being included in your meals. Making healthier options such as taking unsaturated fats over saturated fats, or opting for high protein grains over low protein grains can significantly improve how happy and healthy you are but can be difficult to control when buying processed foods.
